Pure Joy

If you have animals in your family, Subscriber First Name, you are likely reminded on a regular basis to just chillax and enjoy life. Sure, our fur babes don’t have to stress and toil to put the dog food in the bowl, but they do have an important message for us worker bees about living in the moment and engaging in daily playtime.

In this week’s class intro, I reference an article that recently ran in the NYT regarding a study linking regular exercise and a sense of purpose: “The findings underscore how braided the relationship between physical activity and psychological well-being can be, and how the effects often run both ways.”

We learn in enneagram circles that “doing” builds confidence. Hence, doing-repressed numbers (4,5,9—Withdrawing Stance) may struggle with self-esteem for that reason. (Other numbers may have confidence struggles, of course, but for different reasons.)

The good news here is that we can experience the positive effects of “doing” in something as simple as going on a long walk or attending that zumba class. The key is consistency. But don’t let that word scare you! Your activities can be different every day, but just be sure to move. Bonus points if you consciously breathe.
