You might have seen my Insta post this week in which I mentioned the value of experiencing something new, especially if it’s majestic and hiding in your own back yard. By putting ourselves into a scene or experience that surprises us or makes us pause to sensate in a fresh way, we are working to break habits (automatic motions) and reawaken to ourselves in tiny, wonderful ways. This week I chose to do that during yoga by utilizing my blocks as much as possible. Props often don’t make yang (physically challenging) yoga easier. The benefit is that they help us expand into postures, experiencing them in new ways. What could you do during this practice, Subscriber First Name, to shift yourself in small ways that would affect your entire being? You might elongate your breath or close your eyes as much as possible. Tapping into new sensations reminds us how to more keenly perceive our “regular” selves. To grow, we must begin with acceptance.
