I recorded today’s video ahead of time since I was on the North Shore of Lake Superior this week with my beloved (self-proclaimed) Heretics & Heroines. There are 9 of us, though only 7 could make the trip this year. In 2015, our group of tangentially-connected persons from 4 different states decided we needed to get away. Together.

“According to Aristotle, there are three types of friendships: those based on utility, those based on pleasure or delight, and those grounded in virtue.”

With each passing year I become more attuned to curation in my life. I’m not speaking of what I post online, but instead of what I allow myself to take in and who I choose to surround myself with. I believe the practice of yoga has only enhanced my sensitivity to noticing how content and people affect me.

Therefore, I am deeply grateful for these women who have supported me in the darkest days of my life, rejoiced with me in small victories, and who continue to strive to grow and develop as humans on this planet.

THIS Sunday 10/17: Feeling Personality in the Body — this 90-minute movement-based workshop touches on the basics of what the enneagram is and then guides students through an extended yoga class in which we move through each pose I’ve assigned to represent the 9 types. This is an intermediate yoga class meant to simply introduce the idea of the enneagram. (taught at Life Time Fitness; you don’t have to be a member to attend; register at the front desk or email me)

Saturday 11/6: Yenneagram Intro — this day-long workshop is heavy on information and light on movement, but we do all 9 Yenneagram yoga poses throughout the event. I teach the basics of the modern psychology of the enneagram, using 9 asanas as kinesthetic learning opportunities. It’s a day of note-taking, discussion, and periodic movement that’s perfect for anyone new to the enneagram or still trying to determine their number.
