Yoga + Enneagram

Aligning the wisdom of the body, heart and mind for deeper personal growth.

It’s all connected.

Once you start approaching your body with curiosity rather than with fear, everything shifts.
— Dr. Bessel van der Kolk

The three centers of intelligence—our logical, emotional, and instinctual “brains”—are what we seek to balance within ourselves when we study the wisdom of the Enneagram. I believe that engaging our bodies on the journey of self-discovery can open doors of insight and growth that otherwise would remain closed.

As a teacher of both yoga and the Enneagram, I fuse the physical practice of asana with the modern psychology of the Enneagram in order to facilitate personal growth.

Teaching Philosophy:

  • I honor the ancient lineage of yoga while teaching a modern, asana-based practice.

  • I honor the sacred antiquity of the Enneagram symbol while teaching a personal growth system based on modern psychology.

Workshops and Classes:

Yenneagram Intro

This introductory day-long workshop is for those who are completely new to the Enneagram, or those who are unsure of their number. I have assigned a yoga pose to represent each type, and we move into those shapes throughout the day, but the majority of the workshop involves participant note-taking and conversation. You do not have to have any prior knowledge of yoga, and movements can be adapted for varied physical abilities. This workshop is a great place for beginners of both yoga and the Enneagram!

Yenneagram Yoga with Your Friends!

The very best way to learn the Enneagram is with the people you know and love. It gives you a shared language with which you can grow together. Most of all, learning with loved ones gives you the space to be vulnerable.

Do you have a group of 5 to 12 folks who would enjoy learning and moving together? We can begin with yoga, since syncing breath and movement connects us on a somatic level. Then we can gather in your comfiest space and begin a journey of self-knowledge together, tea in hand.

Advanced Yenneagram

If you’ve taken an introductory Enneagram course, or if you’ve done a good deal of self-study, then an advanced Yenneagram workshop could be of benefit. I offer seminars on stress/security moves, subtypes, and spiritual/personal growth. Most of these are content-heavy, with some yoga interspersed throughout the day. Depending on what your group needs, yoga could be featured more prominently in the session. Basic Enneagram knowledge is required for these deep dives.

Yoga is the journey of the self

through the self,

to the self.”

–The Bhagavad Gita

What to expect:

I would love to bring my teaching to engage with your group! There are a variety of ways that could look, for instance:

  1. A 5-hour information-based workshop providing comprehensive understanding of the Yenneagram (Intro or Advanced), with basic movements interspersed throughout.

  2. A movement-intensive yoga series spanning a number of weeks.

  3. A combination of an information-based workshop with an hour-long Yenneagram Yoga classes following the workshop.

I am happy to travel to you, and I am available for retreats and small group gatherings. Depending on the needs of your group, we can create a custom Yenneagram plan. Reach out to me on my Contact page, and we can discuss what might serve your organization best.
